Backing Up Your Data
All of information you will need for backing up your data is on this page. We recommend using Time Machine on an external hard drive. At the bottom of the page, you will find written directions for using Time Machine for your backup.
Another way to back up would be to drag the contents of your home folder directly to a hard drive, the network, or your dropbox. This video shows you how to back up to the network, but you can use this same process to backup to an external hard drive or your dropbox if you have enough room.
See video below for directions on how to reformat your hard drive for a Mac. Please know that if you are reformatting an old hard drive, this process will erase all of the data that is currently on your hard drive.
See attachments below for a written description of the backup process. This document will show you how to reformat your hard drive, back up using Time Machine or by dragging and dropping, and how to back up your bookmarks.
