Our final morning, we worked with each of our specialist groups for an hour. It was a whirlwind morning, but we think each group had a great takeaway.
PE
Our PE teachers started by creating a Padlet in which they brainstormed the different steps in a forward roll. They then took these steps and used iMovie with images and voice over to create a demonstration video on the perfect forward roll.

Music
Our music department took a look at some of the wonderful music apps that are available on the iPad. They used Figure, Garageband and VJay to create musical pieces in a simple way. They created the song that we used as the musical backdrop for our slideshow for the week of training. Our music teachers have seen Garageband before, but they were pretty amazed at how much depth the app has and are looking forward to using these apps with their students.

Our art teachers worked with the Brushes app to create a self portrait. They took a picture of each other and then drew over it to create their own self-portrait. They explored all of the painting tools available in this app and ended up with a fun self-portrait.

Grade 4
The grade 4 team's training was focused around a unit on energy. They even did an experiment with a glow stick focusing on light energy and chemiluminescence. During this session, the teachers used Padlet to record research as a group, they used Quicktime to create a voice recording, they used the Explain Everything app to demonstrate a part of their experiment and then they tied it all together using Keynote to create a non-linear presentation.
