Hour of Code Activities
A number of resources can be found in the Hour of Code pages at Code.org. Under the "Learn an Hour of Code" tab the resources are broken up into a number of different categories. For information on what our students are doing, click on this link.
Beginner Level
Kodable - very simple site which is especially good for non-readers (click "Play without Saving" - you will get a code at the end)
Angry Birds and Plants vs. Zombies - for beginners who want to follow a step-by-step tutorial
Frozen - create art and designs on ice (and also review angles)
Flappy Bird - for beginners who want to experiment and build their own game
Moana - Wayfinding with Code (new)
Beginner/Intermediate Level
Tynker - choose from Beginner, Intermediate, or Advance
LightBot - for beginners who want to challenge themselves or for students with a little experience
Star Wars - for beginners (select blocks) and intermediate (select javascript) students, especially those who want to try building their own little game at the end
Minecraft - use blocks of code to take Steve or Alex on an adventure through this Minecraft world
Minecraft - Designer (new)
iPad apps (downloadable - but these are on our iPads)
